Here I am, once again far away from home ! This time is a little bit more changing than the US. Japan really seems different to me. I'm gonna sum up everything about this trip so i don't have to say it again and again:
I am in 千葉 (Chiba); about half an hour from 東京 (Tokyo) by metro. I am here thanks to my school (kind of college: UTC) to study for a semester. it means i'm here til february. I'm going to study at 千葉工業大学 (Chiba Institute of Technology) in the IT department. Don't ask me what i'm going to do exactly, I don't know much yet !

As you can see on the map, i'm living near the metro station which is exactly (it's written at the station) 27 minutes from the 大手町 (ootemachi) station, located in the very center of 東京 (Tokyo).

I'm living in a men dormitory , but it's a nice place ! My room isn't bigger than 9m² and the accomodations are on the same floor, not too far. I'll take a picture of the toilet seat, it is .... typical. A lot of buttons, all of them coming with japanese instructions i definitly can't read... I haven't tried them yet, afraid of what might happend eventhough I have an idea.

For the first time of my life i can say i'm lucky to be small... my door isn't higher than 1m80 !!! And usually, things are made to be used for short sized people as well as tight people. Fat people must have a hard time leaving here !

The picture on the right is a view of the street of my dormitory (student residence sounds better to me!). You can see how tight it is, cars can't pass each other ! I give you my address, in case you are kind enough to write me something... :

That's all for the first post from Japan. I'm starting to work on tuesday because monday is a national holyday (like the labour day or something). I went to 東京 (Tokyo) today but it was raining, i didn't do much than walking around a giant mall in quest for an umbrella and a dictionnary . I'll tell you later my first impressions about this short but still interesting trip !

Les caractères Japonais (je suppose que c'est ça)ressortent en points d'interrogation. Il y a peut-être une truc à installer sur mon micro.
Sinon, très fort le double langage français / anglais

Your place seems awesome, hope you enjoy it so far. Take some pics of the campus and Tokyo, I'd like to see what it looks like

BTW, as your father said, troubles with japanese caracters, maybe your dBase or something.

Nico : caracteres jap

haaaa it's a pain to handle japanese chars as well as french chars !! Try coming back on the page regularly, i'm trying other encodages, it might change if you deeply reload the page (ctrl+F5).
I'll take lords of pics of everything here, nothings seems usual, that's funny !
And about the double language thing, i'm not sure i'll have the motivation to do it every time, so... enjoy it while you can !

Tu a eu de la pluie dimanche 17 ; c'est normal, tu étais au nord du TYPHON SHANSHAN qui a ravagé le sud du Japon (10 morts, 310 blessés, train régional renversé... info de la REP du 19/09)

Hi there,
ok, sooo, everything should work fine now ! Japanese characters should appear in their japanese form, if not:
- reload with ctrl+F5
- try with internet explore
- install a japanese encoding stuff (internet explorer should ask you if you want to the first time you try to display japanese characters).
- mhm, if you read this, i can't do anything for you, it should be working... reinstall windows

Suis tes "aventures" ; au début, en anglais... un peu de mal mais JC avait écrit "très fort le double langage", donc ai trouvé le français (les caractères japonais passent bien); bon courage A+

Windows ? C'est quoi ? Internet Explorer ? C'est quoi ? Je viens de booter sous Windows (oui ça m'arrive encore) et là... ça marche pu les caractères jap (avec Firefox) Allez, je retourne voir ma Ubuntu. J'espère que tout va bien pour toi, @ pluche

Pour resumer, les encodages supplementaires (comme le jap ou le coreen) ne sont pas installes d'origine sur windows. Apres ya deux facons de les installer, soit en passant par le panneau "ajout/suppression de programmes", soit en tentant d'afficher une page avec ces caracteres et il essaiera de les installer.

Moi je lis bien c'est bon... par contre je comprend rien... c'est bon aussi, je parle pas Jap'.

En fait ça va quand même ta chambre, ça a l'air en bon état.

C'est quand qu'on a droit à des photos du centre ville avec tout plein de lumière partout et tous les gadgets et tout et tout ???!!
