Hey there! Here I am ! I know you've been waiting for news so badly, I know you miss me so much, I know I.. (this part has been deleted by the part of me which realizes you probably didn't miss it that much ). Anyway, I'm here now, writing an "article" on christmas eve, never thought i'd do it!
Time is really flying over, It's going even faster than last year. It seems both so far and still close in the same time, weird feeling. By the way, I remember planing my new year eve, a month ahead back then, and i realize that i still have no plan for next week . I guess the good point is that it makes me free to crash at any party/club i want, I like it !
About the pictures on that page, well, they're all what i've been seeing or eating (obviously) and that i liked while i had a camera with me !! I haven't been visiting much, except for night clubs and restaurants, so no breathtaking landscapes or anything, just everyday's images !
About my life here, well, i've been more than busy at work (for a change), trying to deal with these new insane technologies people create but forget to document. Yeah, what would be the point of creating something that people can actually use. You got to make it hard to understand and to use so that the few people managing it properly are rich and wanted.
<geek>For the computer oriented people reading me, I'm talking about this wonderful framework JSF (Java Server Faces) is when coupled with managed beans and other J2EE handy frameworks. As I read before jumping into the journey of self-learning, I quickly overread an article about the indecent learning curve JSF has. And i couldn't agree more ! After a month of hard bug hunting days, I would say that although there is a great community ready to help you going through your uncountable issues, there is no proper documentation you can refer to when implementing JSF applications...
But that's for the beginning only, after a month, you (at least I) understand the mechanism and the thinking behind the whole thing, and bugs quickly begin to be manageable. So, word of advice (as if i could give one ), hang on tight during the first month and you'll see how new, fresh and interesting this framework is. Really an important improvment to web applications. </geek>.
Ahem, sorry about that, after a month working hard, I couldn't help myself writing down this comment ! At last i found what field i would do my internship in ! Isn't that great ?!
Oh, one thing that i did lately ! I participated in what is called here 餅つき (mochitsuki), which is kind of ... how to explain .. Basically it's "cooking with a kind of a huge hammer" !
It consists in making rice cakes from... rice. The rice is cooked as usual and then disposed in a huge mortar called 臼 (Usu). And that's when the "hammer" comes ! It's actually more like a heavy pestle called a 杵 (kine). It then looks like a paste (like bread paste).
Then comes the degustation part. And, no offense but... it tastes weird. A little bit like you're chewing paper, very sticky !
Nothing better than a view of my favorite city to end this post and this year. By the way, I wish you a Merry Christmas and an amazing new Year! May you accomplish your best wishes. Yeah, I didn't say "may your dreams come true", cause i don't really believe in fate and dreams and blablabla ! I think you need to do what it takes to realize your dreams. You're the only one who can change your life ! oh, gosh, it sounds like a cheap advertising moto !
Anyway, have a good one, really
